About Pinone Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
Pinone Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva is a barrel-aged red wine made by the Italian winery Azienda Pinino with the Sangiovese variety in the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino.
Pinino is run by two couples united by one passion: wine. With a strong devotion to Tuscany, they decided to buy a winery in Montalcino and focus on cultivating top-quality grapes to produce exceptional quality wines. Their wines stand out for the lovely climate they are produced in, the richness of the soil and the long aging process of at least two years in large oak wood barrels.
The Pinone Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva wine is made exclusively using Sangiovese Grosso variety grapes. The vines are planted in rich clay and loamy soils and cultivated using meticulous manual labour. This is traditional agriculture that focusses on containing the vegetation, thinning out the grapes and harvesting at the optimal point of ripeness.
If there is one thing that sets this wine apart, it is the long aging process. According to DOCG regulations, Brunello wines cannot be sold earlier than five years after their production; 6 years for Riservas. So, following tradition, Pinone Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva matures for at least 2 years in large oak barrels with four more years of refining in the bottle.
Pinone Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva, a wine that represents the town of Montalcino. This winemaking area stands out for exceptional quality, powerful premium wines.
2012 | Pinino Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2012 is a mature red wine with intense aromas of ripe red fruits like cherry and raspberry. On the palate it is powerful, elegant and smooth. It has expressive tannins and is full-bodied but very pleasant. It has a lingering and persistent finish. |
