Petrelli Cavarletta Salento Rosato 2023 is a rosé wine that on the nose presents aromas of fresh strawberries and raspberries, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla. Upon tasting, it reveals itself as a harmonious, delicate, and balanced wine, with a pleasant persistence on the palate. Its profile is fresh, providing a light yet notable intensity.

About Petrelli Cavarletta Salento Rosato

Known as the heel of Italy's boot, Salento is topographically predisposed to producing high-quality wines at very reasonable prices. Similar to the French region of Languedoc-Roussillon or California's Central Valley, the vineyards of Salento offer exceptional value for money. This charming region, bathed by the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic and Ionian seas, is one of Italy's oldest and most fascinating wine-producing areas. A true art form passed down through generations, resulting in wines of extraordinary quality and unique character. Giovanni Petrelli, a passionate winemaker from the Lecce area who started the project over 30 years ago, has expertly harnessed these optimal conditions to produce clean and authentic wines with local varieties that reflect the essence of the region.

Based on a strong connection to the land, he presents Petrelli Cavarletta Salento Rosato, a rosé wine made from the native varieties negroamaro and malvasia nera sourced from vines planted in medium-textured soil 25 km from the sea and at an altitude of about 32 m. The vineyard is organically farmed, and the harvest is done manually at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, after selecting the best grapes and having 3-4 hours of skin contact, the winemaking process involves gentle pressing, followed by fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks. Finally, the wine remains on its lees in these same tanks for 4 months.
