Moulin de Gassac Chardonnay

The Languedoc-Roussillon region has always been known for being the largest producer of table wines in France, so when the prestigious Henri Enjalbert went to visit Parisian glove maker Aime Guibert’s holiday home in the south of France, in the commune of Aniane, and identified a unique red soil that shared many characteristics with some of the great estates of Bordeaux and Burgundy, the owner began an ambitious cult wine project that would remove the stigma the region suffered from as a producer of large volumes of cheap wine. A visionary who, with special care both in the vineyard and in the winery, knew how to promote high-end Vin de Pays d'Oc with incredible value for money.

Today, with more than 30 hectares of vineyards, Mas de Daumas Gassac produces an excellent variety of organic, red and white wines and dessert wines. This Moulin de Gassac Chardonnay is a single-variety Chardonnay that has been cultivated following a respectful agriculture and harvested at the optimum point ripeness. Then the grapes are selected, destemmed and pressed and the resulting must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a constant temperature. Finally, it remains on its lees before bottling.

Floral and aromatic, Moulin de Gassac Chardonnay is a white wine that, despite its modest denomination and location, beautifully reveals all the aromas of the leading Chardonnay grape variety thanks to Aime Guibert’s vision.
