About La Négly Les Astérides Blanc
One of the standout qualities of Jean Paux-Rosset from Château de la Négly is his unwavering commitment to promoting the appellations of the Languedoc region in southern France. Together with his winemaker, Claude Gros, he has chosen to champion the grapes from the finest estates and incorporate them into the exclusive Select Vins portfolio. This collection of wines, resulting from numerous collaborations, successfully highlights the quality and uniqueness of various appellations, including Minervois, Faugères, Corbières, La Clape, and Côtes du Roussillon. However, the true enhancement of the IGP Pays d'Oc is achieved through the wines crafted in his own winery. Situated in the La Clape massif, facing the sea, the estate benefits from diverse soil types and a sunny, dry climate, producing a portfolio of wines worthy of admiration.
One such wine, La Négly Les Astérides Blanc, is made from Chardonnay, Grenache Gris, and Muscat vines planted in sandy and limestone soils located by the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyard is managed organically to preserve the balance of the terroir, and the harvest is done manually to select only the ripest and highest quality grapes. In the winery, the fruit is sorted and destemmed before undergoing direct pressing. The resulting must ferments at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, and the wine then remains on its fine lees in these tanks for three months.
La Négly Les Astérides Blanc fully expresses its distinctive characteristics, achieving a perfect balance between fruit and acidity. This wine not only showcases the richness of the Languedoc terroir but also reflects Jean Paux-Rosset's dedication to his region.
