About Jean Lallement Brut Reserve

Jean Lallement Brut Reserve is a sparkling wine made with the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties in the AOC Champagne, in the Champagne region (France) by Jean Lallement Et Fils.

Jean Lallement represents the battle of the giant against the small. A born fighter with 4.5 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards considered to produce the best Pinot Noir base wines in all of Champagne, this man has managed to carve out a niche among the greats with his production of no more than 20,000 bottles per year. He is, without doubt, a tiny but powerful producer with a distinctly Pinot Noir style.

These extraordinary vineyards used to make Jean Lallement Brut Reserve lie in the villages of Verzenay and Verzy (Montagne de Reims). The vines are 30 years old on average and planted on surprisingly chalky soils. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

In the winery, the Jean Lallement Brut Reserve base wine is made with native yeasts and always vinified separately depending on the different soils and ages of the vines. The wine is then aged on lees in French oak barrels for 6 months. Finally a second fermentation takes place in the bottle following the champagnoise method and the wine stays there for 18 months. Once the champagne is ready, it is disgorged and dosed with 3-8 gr./l. of residual sugar.

A small producer who makes Lallement Brut Reserve in the old blanc de noirs style. With the terroir and his hands as his only weapons, he has managed to carve out a niche for himself among the giants of Champagne.

Jean Lallement Brut Reserve is a creamy sparkling wine with a high aromatic intensity and predominant fruits, with notes of pastry and toasted hints. On the palate it is robust, powerful and well structured. A concentrated champagne, with marked acidity and high dry extract.
