White wine Aged in clay Natural, Organic and Vegan. 9 months in jar.
De Martino Viejas Tinajas Muscat 2022 is a white wine with intense aromas of tropical fruit, floral notes and hints of citrus. On the palate it is fresh, voluminous and balanced. A rich wine, with marked acidity, a rugged mid-palate and a bitter and saline finish.

Italian immigration to Chile began in the late 19th century and intensified in the early 20th century with people in search of better opportunities and to escape economic hardship. That is why Chile has a significant Italian community with a notable influence on its history, culture and society. Pietro de Martino arrived in Chile in 1934 from Vianelo, a small Italian village one hour from Rome, and settled in Maipo with the aim of producing the wines of his dreams. Today, four generations later, De Martino is one of the leading wineries in Chile, specifically in the Itata Valley, in the southern wine-growing region.
As an example of their work, they present De Martino Viejas Tinajas Muscat. A white wine made from the Muscat of Alexandria and Chasselas varieties. Vines with an average age of 40 years planted on decomposed granite soils, lying at an altitude of 174 metres and 22 kilometres from the Pacific Ocean. The work is organic and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness. In the winery, the grapes are destemmed and placed whole in vats to begin fermentation with native yeasts. There it remains in contact with the skins for 6 months until it undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Made just like it was in the past, De Martino Viejas Tinajas Muscat is a white wine that pays homage to the origins of an immigrant family. A wine fermented and aged in century-old vats where the results are so authentic that in 2018 it was recognised by Tim Atkin himself as Chile’s “Best White Wine”. A real treat.
