Dasca Vives Trepat

From a farming background, Josep Dasca and Alba Vives took the plaque presiding over the entrance to their winery, “Family farming and free vineyards, living wines”, quite literally. With a passion for the land and great respect for its gifts, they are true defenders of rural life at Alt Camp, Tarragona (Catalonia). Which is why their mission goes beyond transformation: they seek to infuse life into each wine, honoring and preserving the natural riches of the land. As they themselves say, “You’ll find us in the fields”.

With a highly entertaining portfolio in which one can find red, white, rosé, ancestral and even rancid wines, all of them are created in accordance with the same principle: that of minimum intervention. Natural wines produced in alignment with the natural cycle of the vineyard, which is made evident with wines like this Dasca Vives Trepat, a red wine of the native Trepat variety from young vines that are cultivated in accordance using regenerative agriculture, with the clear aim of bringing life to the soil, rather than wearing it down. The harvest is carried out by hand in small boxes of 20 kg, selecting only the very best grapes. Then, in the winery, fermentation begins using the natural yeasts from the grapes themselves in stainless steel tanks without the addition of fining agents or any other additives. Similarly, during bottling, the wine is not filtered and no sulfites are added.

Outside the Tarragona DO region and using the name Valls on the labels (the capital of Alt Camp), Dasca Vives Trepat is a country wine that perfectly represents the philosophy of life and work of this farming couple. A soft, fresh and sweet red wine that invites you to share the natural richness of the land.
