About AMI Bourgogne Homard d'Or
Willy and Paul are the perfect team. Willy Roulendes, an experienced winemaker, has a deep knowledge of the Côte de Beaune terroirs. Paul Perarnau, sommelier at prestigious tasting events in London and Paris, acts as a link between the countryside and the city. Together they create pure and attractive wines in the Maranges Valley, in the south of the Côte de Beaune. A project born out of friendship (AMI is French for "friend") that has sought to highlight the wines of Burgundy from a pleasant, relaxed and natural point of view. Wines that are honest, just like a true friendship.
One of the wines they make together is AMI Bourgogne Blanc, a single-variety Chardonnay from 3 hectares of soils composed of clay and sand. The vines are cultivated using certified organic agriculture and always using biodynamic treatments to guarantee the natural balance of the terroir. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand and once they reach the winery, vinification takes place after the grapes have been directly pressed in old Bordeaux barrels. Fermentation is very slow and spontaneous using native yeasts and then the wine is aged in used French oak barrels for 12 months. Finally, the wine is bottled without filtering, clarifying or adding sulphites.
All of this work results in AMI Bourgogne Blanc, a white wine from the AOC Bourgogne (Burgundy) with a rich bouquet and elegant minerality. A most intriguing Chardonnay that makes friends wherever it goes.
2018 |
AMI Bourgogne Blanc 2018 is a defined white wine with intense aromas of white fruit, hints of honeysuckle and penetrating citrus hints. The palate is creamy, full and elegant. A well-structured wine with sweet acidity and a very long mineral finish. |
