Godello lantations have been increasing in Portela , location where it was natural, and with the passage from one generation to another, eventually this group of vineyards were sold. Thanks to this visionary winemaker, has perpetuated the real Godello, allowing to carry out a rigorous clonal selection. Years later the family has ido Prada recovering the vineyards, taking as a witness the oldest of them, Pedrouzos and currently are approximately eleven small plots Godello old, giving name to one of its most famous wines, pieces da Portela .

The entire vineyard is composed of a mosaic of small plots of old vines, located in the best locations Valdeorras concentrated mostly in the sunny slopes of Córgomo and Portela. A place where the latitude and altitude allow adequate maturation of the grapes. The unique combination of microclimate Valdeorras characterized by fluctuations in temperature between night and day, and diversity of soil: what transmits a variety of personality and allows them to produce concentrated wines, bulky and mineral character.

Valdesil with the collaboration of several local vintners, many of them have supplied grapes to the winery from the beginning. Winegrowing practices in these vineyards are overseen by its technical team during the entire cycle of the vine sets quality parameters to follow. The evaluation and monitoring of the vines is of vital importance, especially in pruning, flowering, veraison and especially close to harvest time in which visits are made and many more samples. Having winegrowers in different locations Valdeorras, allowing them to select the best grapes in terms of adding and maintaining regularity between harvests.
