Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is a white wine produced by the Viña Tondonia winery in the D.O Rioja. The winery is located in the town of Haro (Rioja Alta) and is one of the most prestigious in Spain.
Viña Tondonia is a historic winery, the first in the town of Haro at the third in Rioja. The exceptional and consistent quality of their wines is a testament to their 137 years of experience in the industry.
Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is part of this great tradition at the winery, and is one of the wines with a very long ageing, that results in an authentic and consistent wines.
Viña Tondonia Rerseva Blanco is blend of 2 different grapes varieties: Malvasía and Viura, although the latter clearly dominates. Both varieties are native to the region, which is a basic condition of the winery. The grapes used are taken from the Viña Tondonia estate, a majestic vineyard of 100 hectares that was planted over one hundred years ago in 1913 on the right banks of the river Ebro.
The harvest is carried out manually and with care, as to avoid that the grapes breaking, rupturing or spontaneously fermenting prior to arriving at the winery. In regards to the production of this wine, fermentation takes place in small oak vats using native yeasts from the vines for 7 days. Fermentation takes place without the skins, to avoid excessive colouration. After the various phases of the winemaking process have been carried out, Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is aged for 6 years in 225litre capacity Bordeaux oak barrels, made at the winery. While the wine is ageing, it is racked twice a year.

The palate is a thick, tasty wine. Rich and round. With a magnificent acidity.

Clean and bright amber.
Complex nose of medium intensity and prevalence of toasted with roasted undertones, honey, ripe fruit, apricot, peach and some citrus notes.
