Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is a white wine produced by the Viña Tondonia winery in the D.O Rioja. The winery is located in the town of Haro (Rioja Alta) and is one of the most prestigious in Spain.

Viña Tondonia is a historic winery, the first in the town of Haro at the third in Rioja. The exceptional and consistent quality of their wines is a testament to their 137 years of experience in the industry.

Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is part of this great tradition at the winery, and is one of the wines with a very long ageing, that results in an authentic and consistent wines.

Viña Tondonia Rerseva Blanco is blend of 2 different grapes varieties: Malvasía and Viura, although the latter clearly dominates. Both varieties are native to the region, which is a basic condition of the winery. The grapes used are taken from the Viña Tondonia estate, a majestic vineyard of 100 hectares that was planted over one hundred years ago in 1913 on the right banks of the river Ebro.

The harvest is carried out manually and with care, as to avoid that the grapes breaking, rupturing or spontaneously fermenting prior to arriving at the winery. In regards to the production of this wine, fermentation takes place in small oak vats using native yeasts from the vines for 7 days. Fermentation takes place without the skins, to avoid excessive colouration. After the various phases of the winemaking process have been carried out, Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is aged for 6 years in 225litre capacity Bordeaux oak barrels, made at the winery. While the wine is ageing, it is racked twice a year.

Following the ageing process, Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is bottled without being filtered, but is clarified using fresh eggs.

Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco is a white wine with an almost unlimited evolution in the bottle. A special Rioja, it is exquisite.

In La Rioja there are large wineries and also great wineries. A handful of them are century-old, some are very well-known, some are actually quite small. We must not forget family-run wineries and the abundant harvester's wineries or "cosecheros". Viña Tondonia is many of those things, besides being a winery that has been run by the same family since its origins. Through four generations and despite the continuous and tempting offers of multinationals, for a hundred years, R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia is still a single-family winery. Here, the four generations that have directed it have continued with the philosophy and the social and work principles set by its founder more than 139 years ago.
Rioja is one of the most important areas of wine production in the world. It has a long history, and exceptional soils and climates. From the Tempranillo and Grenache varieties they make great red wines that are masterfully aged which demonstrates the experience passed from generation to generation.
