Viña Escarlata is a great red wine from winery Juvé & Camps made in D.O. Penedés.
This is a single variety Merlot, planted at an altitude of 650 metres at the Mediona estate, an estate owned by the winery, with soils and an excellent climate for the optimum growing of this variety.
After the maceration for 21 days and the vinification at a controlled temperature, Viña Escarlata undergoes an aging for 12 months in French and American oak barrels and 2 years in the bottle.
Viña Escarlata is a wine with an evolution that will improve over the next 5 years.

To talk about Juvé & Camps we do not need to turn to its past. However, time in the world of wine is too often the only truth to confirm, once again, that beginnings forged a large part of the best wine history of a region. And that cannot be ignored or forgotten. Because the history of anonymous and simple wines usually ends with the grape types and the region of origin. However, the history of good wines always leads to a special vineyard and a tradition that has often been preserved for several generations.  In short, a whole winery philosophy, where its innate sensitivity and its unique vision of future make the wines of Juvé & Camps take part in this secret complicity between science and pleasure, harvest after harvest.

Today, the D.O Penedès is experimenting with viticulture and winemaking like no other region in Spain, home to a vast range of different grape varieties. The region is home to traditional white and red varieties, foreign ones, noble ones, permitted grapes, experimental grapes, and those that demostrate intrinsic qualities. As well as the grapes, the production techniques used are also worth noting, the location of the vineyards, the yields per hectare, the wines produced using traditional, original or even exclusive blends, the different ageing times, as well as the complexity of the different barrels used! But the reality is, given the vast diversity, it can be difficult to pinpoint what really defines a wine from Penedès, since there are so many types of wines and wineries in the region. However, the common denominator of all the wines from Penedès continues to be balance and quality.
