Finca Viladellops is a winery located in the Macizo del Garraf, a 15 km mountain range situated along the Mediterranean coast. This mountain range is known for its calcareous soils and the presence of marine fossils.
In these special surroundings, we can find this 500 hectare farm, with Mediterranean woodlands, cereal and 60 hectares of vineyards that are registered in the D.O. Penedès. This is where Marcelo Desvalls, its owner, prepares 100% Mediterranean quality wines. These wines intend to transmit their character through local varieties and certified organic agriculture for all of them.
Viladellops Garnatxa is a wine made from Red Grenache. This variety comes from two young vineyards which were planted in 1989 and 2007 on calcareous soils. Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in the vineyard and in the winery. They are manually harvested and placed in 15kg boxes. Pre-fermentation maceration at a temperature of 10-12ºC. Fermentation carried out in stainless steel deposits at a controlled temperature that ranges between 20 and 24ºC. Each grape farm's harvest is fermented individually. Wine is clarified and stabilised before it is bottled.
