Matías i Torres Negramoll is a red wine from D.O Palma produced by Matías i Torres. The winery is situated in the town of Fuencaliente, on the island of Palma. 


Matías i Torres is an historic winery on the island. Founded in 1855, it is currently in the hands of the 4th and 5th generation of the family and led by Victoria Torres. This wine is made using different plots of vineyards from around the island, with varying soil varieties and an average age of 25 years old.

Fermentation is carried out in ´lagares de tea´ (wine presses made of local wood), and are typical of traditional wineries on the islands. Here a short maceration and a fermentation with its own yeasts are carried out. The wine is decanted into oak and chestnut barrels where it is aged for 5 months.

With an area of 726kmand an impressive orography, La Palma is the island with the greatest heights in relation to its surface. The island is full of contrasts and luminosity, with high peaks and deep gorges, lush forests and volcanic zones full of colour, all of which have led to the nickname ‘la isla bonita’ (the beautiful island). La Palma is home to a vast range of grape varieties that, together with modern production techniques, have allowed the island to produce many pleasant surprises, not only with their classic white Malvasia wine and wines derived from the ancient "canary sack", but also their rosés and reds, which are also signs of excellent quality.
