Characteristics Veyder-Malberg Riesling Blümchen
Veyder-Malberg Riesling Blümchen is a Riesling variety white wine made by the WeingutVeyder-Malberg winery in Wachau.
Peter Veyder-Malberg, a leading producer of biodynamic wines, made a qualitative leap when he left Schloss Hardegg to produce wines in his own winery in the town of Spitz. To do this, he acquired vineyards on the steep slopes of the Wachau valleys, where he uses manual work only to create elegant, low-percentage and high-mineral wines.
Veyder-Malberg Riesling Blümchen comes from 30 to 50-year-old vines planted in deeply mineral slate soils with great water retention capacity. Ecological and organic agriculture is practiced at all times using biodynamic techniques and treatments and no technical tools. The harvest is completely manual.
In the winery the grape is not destemmed and is pressed gently for 6 to 8 hours. Veyder-Malberg Riesling Blümchen ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and old barrels at a controlled temperature. It then ages on lees.
Veyder-Malberg Riesling Blümchen is a dry and very deep white wine that holds the full minerality of the Wachau Valley.
