Venta la Ossa Tempranillo is a red wine from the V.T Castilla produced by the winery Mano a Mano. This wine is made using only the Cencibel grapes, which is the name given to the Tempranillo grape variety in this region.
The grapes used to make Venta la Ossa Tempranillo comes from 330 hectares of vineyards, planted on low bush vines at altitudes of around 750 metres. The vines themselves are old, ranging between 50-80 years old. The soils on which they grow are sandy type. The local climate is predominantly continental, although mediterranean influences are present.
The harvest is carried out using small wooden boxes, this way the grapes do not break or loose their qualities. Once at the winery, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28ºC. Following this, the maceration phase is carried out for a few weeks.
Finally, Venta la Ossa Tempranillo is aged for about one year in French oak barrels. The final bottling takes place after the wine has been cold stabilised.
Mano a Mano is a young winery situated in the municipality Alhambra, in the province of Ciudad Real. Their speciality is wines produced with Cencibel grapes, which corresponds to Tempranillo grapes in other regions. The only difference is its better dealing with drought conditions.
