Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Val de Nora is a white wine from the D.O Rías Baixes produced by Viña Nora. This wine is made using only Albariño grapes.

The grapes used for Val de Nora are grown on vineyards situated on natural terraces, which are tremendously difficult to care for. The vines are cultivated using the Guyot technique. The harvest is also carried out manually, since there is no alternative given the vineyards location.

The vineyards are between 10-20 years old and occupy a total of 16 hectares. The vineyards are home to alluvial soils based on granitic rocks. The area is home to an atlantic climate and experiences rainfull and constant high humidity.

At the winery, the various winemaking processes are carried out with the aim of preserving the Albariño grapes characteristics and maintaining its freshness. After a careful selection of which grapes are to be used, the chosen grapes are directly pressed.

Once all of the various winemaking processes have been performed, Val de Nora is bottled and marketed without passing through the ageing process.

Viña Nora is a Galician winery, with Eulogio Calleja as its technical director and Susana Pérez as the resident winemaker. Situated on natural terrecas formed by the Miño river, its Albariño grapes convey perfectly the terroir of the Rias Baixes.

Rías Baixas wines would not be where they are today without the native Albariño grape variety. Although red wines are also produced in Rías Baixas, practically 100% of Rías Baixas wines are white. Among them, the vast majority of them are made with the Albariño grape. As well as young wines, fresh and aromatic, the region also makes wines aged in the barrels, complex wines with great personalities. Albariño wines can either be single varieties, or be part of a blend with other characteristic grapes of the region: Treixadura, Loureira Blanca and Godello.
