Until 2012, Olivier Riviere bought all the grapes from the winegrowers of the area. In this same year, he acquired two small plots in Rioja Alavesa, located at around 500 metres of altitude. They have 1.5 hectares and are planted with vines that are over 90 years old.
Currently, Olivier Riviere produces wines La Rioja, Navarra y Arlanza, managing to transmit, with honesty, all the features of the terroir, with al the expression and authenticity of the variety.
Trotamundos is a wine made with White Grenache from old vineyards located in Rioja Baja. All of them are cultivated organically.
Harvesting is carried out manually, selecting the grapes in the vineyard and in the winery. When they arrive, they are destemmed. The fermentation takes place in French oak vats with native yeasts. Once the alcoholic fermentation has ended, the wine is transferred to used, 500-litre French oak barrels, where it will remain for 18 months. In these deposits, it also goes through the malolactic fermentation.
