Trénel Saint Véran is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine produced by the Trénel winery in the AOC Saint-Véran in Burgundy, France.
The AOC Saint Véran, located in southern Burgundy, was created in 1971 and only makes white wines like this Trénel Saint Véran, which comes from a mixture of cuvées made from south and west-facing plots aged between 30 and 45 years old in the towns of Chasselas and Davayé. The vines are carefully chosen for their high quality clay and limestone soils.
Fermentation lasting between several weeks and several months takes place in tanks made of stainless steel or cement or in oak barrels.
La Maison Trénel is a family winery that was founded in 1928 by Henri Claudius with the aim of showcasing the true expression of the Gamay and Chardonnay varieties. With this focus in mind, they make wines that are full of authenticity and that have put this winery on the map. Their good work and excellent working relationships and friendships with other winegrowers caught the attention of Michel Chapoutier, a renowned winemaker from the Rhône, who was impressed by the Trénel wines and acquired the property in 2015.
