Trénel Pouilly Vinzelles Les Quarts is a single-variety Chardonnay white wine made by the Trénel winery in the AOC Pouilly-Vinzelles in Burgundy, France.
The Trénel Pouilly Vinzelles Les Quarts wine is made from grapes grown on vines that are about 55 years old and come from the Les Quarts vineyard south of Sâone et Loire, near Mâcon, a plot with soils composed of calcareous and marl-limestone formations. Here the Chardonnay grape is the only grape authorised for winemaking and in this area it offers a result that you won’t find anywhere else in Burgundy.
The grapes ferment with their native yeasts under controlled temperatures of between 20-21ºC to give the wine breadth and structure. The resulting wine undergoes a full malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels and is then aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Maison Trénel has always sought authenticity in the production of their wines and fruit liqueurs. This century-old winery is now part of the renowned Maison M. Chapoutier, with whom it shares the values of identity and quality in each of the products they make.
