Travaglini Gatinnara Riserva is a reserva red wine made by the Travaglini Italian winery with the Nebbiolo variety in the Gattinara denomination.
Travaglini is one of the Gattinara denomination’s most representative wineries in northern Piedmont. Founded in 1958, it soon became known for high quality wines and stylish design. The wines are sold in a very peculiar iconic twisted bottle that serves as a decanter to aerate these wines that are characterised by their long refining in the winery.
Travaglini Gatinnara Riserva is only produced in the best vintages. It is made using old vines that lie at an altitude of 320 to 420 metres above sea level and are planted in a rocky area rich in iron and granite. This area has a temperate climate with mild temperatures and rains spread throughout the year, the vines enjoy very good ventilation. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and the harvest is carried out at the optimum point of ripeness.
The Travaglini Gatinnara Riserva wine is made with great care and patience. Firstly, it ferments in stainless steel tanks for about 15 days at a controlled temperature. It is then aged for 3 years in Slovenian oak barrels and finally rests in the bottle for 8 months before being sold.
Travaglini Gatinnara Riserva is a very reasonably priced red wine that reveals the full intensity of a denomination with very varied terroirs.
