Characteristics Tragaldabas

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Tragaldabas is a red wine from the Sierra de Salamanca region produced by the winery Mandrágora Vinos del Pueblo. This wine is a blend of the grape varieties Rufete and Aragonés.

The grapes used to make Tragaldabas come from a selection of old vineyards situated in Miranda del Castañar, Garcibuey and Molinillo. Planted on low-bush vines which are growing in soils containing mainly granite and slate.

The harvest is carried out totally manually. At the winery, the grapes, which partially keep the stems, ferment with indigenous yeasts. After they undergo different proceses of maceration.

Finally Tragaldabas is aged in part new, part old french oak barrels that have a capacity of 2,700 litres.

Tragaldabas was a project started by four wine lovers, who thought that it would be a good idea to produce a product in the Parque de las Batuecas. The different altitudes of the land, and the different types of soil and various orientations seemed to make for ideal conditions.

It seems that it was indeed a good idea. Today, Tragaldabas finds itself in the top rankings among specialised wines.
