Torelló Brut Reserva is a sparkling wine made with the Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada varieties by the Corpinnat collective brand (Catalonia).
Torelló Viticultors is an old winery that, as well making still wines in the D.O. Penedès, also makes great sparkling wines as part of the Corpinnat collective brand. This is a small association that only welcomes the best sparkling winemakers in Penedès who champion native varieties, the typicity of the terroir and organic cultivation.
Torelló Brut Reserva comes from their own vineyards on the Can Martí family estate, in the town of Gelida (Alt Penedès). The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture and no chemical products. The harvest is carried out completely manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Torelló Brut Reserva grapes are immediately transferred to the press to develop a yeast cap and begin a first fermentation with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks. A second fermentation then takes place in the bottle followed by a minimum aging of 36 months, also in the bottle. Being a brut sparkling wine, it contains 4gr/l sugar.
Having spent more than 36 months in the bottle, Torelló Brut Reserva is a fresh, sweet and structured Corpinnat. A sparkling wine that perfectly reflects the philosophy of the Torelló winery.
