Terroir Sense Fronteres Negre is a red wine made with the Garnacha Tinta and Cariñena varieties by Terroir Sense Fronteres in the D.O. Montsant (Catalonia).
Terroir Sense Fronteres is the personal project of Dominik Huber, a lover of Priorat who settled in the area in 1996 and has tried to express the local terroir and climate in his wines. Terroir Sense Fronteres includes four wines that, made in the neighbouring D.O. Montsant, gives a greater degree of freedom to explore different winemaking ideas. These are light wines with great personality.
Terroir Sense Fronteres Negre comes from different vineyards located in the Montsant Valley. The vines are aged between 15 and 35 years old and are planted at an altitude of 300-350 metres above sea level in clay soils. They are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and the yield is limited to 5,000 kg per hectare.
In the winery, the Terroir Sense Fronteres Negre grapes are destemmed and placed in the tanks until they are full. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts and without using any mechanical processes. This is a slow winemaking process that usually lasts between 7 and 8 days. Finally the wine ages for 6 months in stainless steel tanks.
Terroir Sense Fronteres Negre is a fruity wine that ages without using wood, which allows the full expression of the variety and the terroir to come through. A Montsant in the traditional Burgundy style.
