Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado
A delicate spirit aged in American and European oak barrels
Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado is a complex, fine and elegant spirit. From the beginning of the tasting, fruity notes appear (blackcurrant, red apple, pineapple, peach), combined with dried fruits (nuts). Balanced and delicate. Floral aftertaste and honey notes also appear. Soft and enveloping. It finishes with toasted notes of tobacco, which are typical of the barrel aging.
Characteristics Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado
Time heals everything. Or at least makes things better. This is undoubtedly the case with wines and spirits. And if you don’t believe us, you just need a shot of Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado to prove the point. Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado was created in 2017, and is the result of a collaboration between the luxury giant LVMH and the Gallardo family. It is aged in American and French oak barrels.
The magic touch in Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado is provided by the very mineral soil of the Altos de Jalisco, the place where it is grown. These substances were deposited by the Tequila Volcano 200,000 years ago, when magma from the eruption turned these soils into volcanic soils.
These plants are the starting point for making Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado. The process begins in the autoclaves where the agave leaves dry out for 9 hours. From there, Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado goes directly to the crusher (where the leaves are crushed) and then continues in stainless steel tanks. Here the juice will ferment for 3 days on rum yeast. Once this process has finished, Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado is distilled twice and aged for 9 months (half in European oak barrels and half in American oak barrels). After blending and a double stabilisation (10 days and 15 days respectively), Tequila Volcán de mi Tierra Reposado is bottled and labelled by hand, maintaining and caring for all the Mexican essence.
