Stella di Campalto Brunello di Montalcino is a biodynamic red wine made by Azienda Agricola S. Giuseppe with the Sangiovese variety in the DOCG Brunello di Montalcino, in the Tuscany region (Italy).
Located south of Montalcino in Tuscany, Azienda Agricola S. Giuseppe is a small winery that has been owned by Stella di Campalto since 1992. A total of 5.5 hectares of vineyards surrounded by beautiful hills where the Sangiovese variety grows pure and deep and is used by Stella to make two great wines: Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino.
Using thorough knowledge of her plots to get the best possible expression of the terroir, Stella dedicates a great deal of time and resources to maintaining the natural ecosystem in and around the vineyards. Each plot is a small cru with its own distinctive character and they are cultivated using organic agriculture with biodynamic treatments to maintain the purest expression of the terroir and the fruit.
In the winery, each plot is vinified separately in wooden vats. If there is one thing Stella di Campalto Brunello di Montalcino is known for, it is for the long, 44-month aging in foudres in the winery before being released for sale.
One of the most unique Montalcino expressions, Stella di Campalto Brunello di Montalcino is a limited-production Sangiovese that wonderfully combines intensity and elegance. Getting a sip of this wine is a treat!
