Sandrone Barolo Aleste is a red wine made by the winemaker Sandrone Luciano in the DOCG Barolo (Piedmont) with the Nebbiolo variety.

Aleste is the name Sandrone Luciano has given to his latest project. A continuation from the first wine he produced in 1985, Barolo Cannubi Boschis, and named using an acronym made up of his grandsons’ names, ALEsia and STEfano. Independent wines that show the richness and elegance that Cannubi (Barolo) offers, the quintessential Nebbiolo area.

Sandrone Barolo Aleste comes from vineyards located in the village of Cannubi Boschis, in a small valley near the Sandrone winery. Planted in shallow, calcareous clay, marine soils with good drainage and good sun exposure. They always practice respectful agriculture, with the aim of showing off the terroir’s uniqueness. The grapes are harvested by hand.

In the winery, Sandrone Barolo Aleste undergoes alcoholic fermentation in open stainless steel tanks for 25 days with native yeasts. It then undergoes malolactic fermentation and aging in 500-litre French oak barrels for 24 months. Once bottled it stays in the winery for 18 months before being sold.

Sandrone Barolo Aleste is a tribute to Cannobi, a privileged area in the heart of Barolo (Piedmont) with soils and a climate that are perfect for making a unique wine that is rich and elegant.

Barolo is a town in Piedmont that one of the best and most expensive red wines in Italy is named after. It is made exclusively with the Nebbiolo variety and ages for a long time before being released for sale. Barolo wines are complex, with highly concentrated fruit and flavours, intense tannins and high acidity and alcohol.
