Rumbo al Norte is a red wine made by Comando G in la Sierra de Gredos, the south of the Ávila province.
Comando G is a project with the intention of recuperating single plots of Grenache variety in order to produce wines with maximum expression from each one.
Hence the name Comando G. G for Grenache.
Rumbo al Norte is a single variety Grenache. The grapes are grown in a very little plot with just over 0,3 planted hectares at an altitude of 1200 metres and north facing.
Cold. Very cold in winter and very warm in the summer, however the nights are fresh as well.
The ripening of the grapes occurs slowly, following a good balance between the sugar and the acidity.
Wines with great degree but hardly noticeable on the palate.
Comando G practices agriculture based on the principle of biodynamic, demonstrating an absolute respect for the environment.
The grapes are destemmed and macerated at a cold temperature.
Rumbo al Norte undergoes a fermentation in open barrels and an aging, for 12 months in 500 litre French oak barrels.
An expressive Grenache. Wonderful.
If you would like to try it, hurry! This wine is in limited production. They only make a little more than 1000 bottles.
