Ruinart Rosé Second Skin is a Reserve sparkling wine made by Ruinart in the AOC Champagne, in Champagne (France).
Ruinart was the first maison to make champagne. The origins of this winery date back to 1729 and they are mostly known for their exceptional abilities with Chardonnay, the quintessential variety of this world-renowned wine region. But if this winery is known for one thing, it is the way they have masterfully managed to maintain an exquisite balance between tradition and innovation, generation after generation, and the way they have turned their champagnes into true works of art.
Ruinart Rosé Second Skin comes from a coupage of the two reigning varieties of the AOC Champagne, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Grown mostly in Premier Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs regions, the grapes develop slowly, which provides impressive aromatic complexity. When they finally reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually.
In the winery, Ruinart Rosé Second Skin is vinified using the traditional champenoise method. It begins with a first fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and continues with a second fermentation in the bottle and a 36-month aging on lees.
Ruinart Rosé Second Skin is presented in modern and responsible eco-packaging. An elegant and original way to present a luxury champagne using 100% recyclable material that simulates the walls of the famous underground galleries of the Maison Ruinart, called Les Crayères.
