Rosario Vera is a red wine made by the
Rosario Vega Winery in the
D.O.Ca. Rioja.
Rosario Vera is the new winery in La Rioja from
Grupo Juan Gil Bodegas Familiares. With several plots in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, acquired in 2016,
Grupo Juan Gil is launching a project in la Rioja that has been in progress for several years, and that began by producing its first vintage in this same year.
Rosario Vera is a wine made with
Tempranillo grapes from vineyards that are between 15 and 60 years old, located in the municipality of Laguardia, planted on limestone soils that are rich in clay.
Once the grapes are harvested, each plot is fermented separately in stainless steel tanks for 15 days, with temperature control (a maximum of 27°C). Once the coupage is obtained with the best plots, the malolactic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels, where the wine remains for 10 months.
