The palate confirms its intensity, it is dense, with powerful but well integrated tannins, it is elegant with a long and balanced aftertaste. This wine is best enjoyed oxygenated and decanted. Characteristics Ramos Pinto Vintage

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Ramos Pinto Vintage is a fortified port wine made with the region’s native grapes, including Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca, by Casa Ramos Pinto in Porto, Portugal.

Ramos Pinto Vintage is an exceptional wine that is made with the grapes from a single harvest and is so high quality that it is worth aging and bottling without mixing it with wines from other vintages as is usually the case with port wines.

After the harvest, the grapes are placed in traditional lagares, a kind of stone container, and traditional grape treading is carried out, which is more gentle on the grapes. The must ferments and the resulting wine is aged in barrels for 24 months to finish refining. It is then bottled and left to rest. It is time and patience that gives it a longevity that could even reach 100 years.

The winery says that Ramos Pinto Vintage is a gem that reveals the dark side of port, it is opaque but intensely red, vigorous and jovial, with a Duero soul.

Casa Ramos Pinto recommends storing it in an upright position for two to four hours so that the sediments fall to the bottom. They also suggest decanting it before serving. You have to let it breathe to appreciate its full splendour.

Ramos Pinto Vintage is a fortified wine for special occasions, a wine to enjoy in intimate moments by candlelight.
