Ramón Bilbao Gran Reserva is a red wine from the Rioja D.O region, produced by the Ramón Bilbao winery. The winery is located in the town of Haro (La Rioja Alta), a historic place in Spanish vitculture as it is home to the largest number of wineries in Spain.
Ramón Billbao Gran Reserva is made using Tempranillo (90%), Graciano (5%) and Garnacha (5%) grapes. The grapes come from plots in and surrounding Haro (Las Arogues, La Llana, San Prudencio…)
The winemaking process begins with the harvest and manual selection of the grapes during the 3rd week of October. Once the fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature, the wine is aged for 30 months in American oak barrels. After being bottled, the wine spends 36 months ageing underground.
Ramón Bilbao offers that analytical profile, capable of becoming positive, provided we can see the basic reasons that have lead to its maintenance and success for more than 80 years. Since then, this winery remains static in time, but the curious and refreshing personality of its wines have always combined perfectly with respect for tradition and the use of the most innovative technology.
