Ramón Bilbao Crianza is a classic Rioja wine made by Bodegas Ramon Bilbao, a winery that has more than a century of history.

It was founded in 1924 by Don Ramón Bilbao Murga, although since 1896, Don Ramón ran a small winery in Haro selling his first wines. Ramón Bilbao Crianza is a varietal wine made from Tempranillo grapes, a typical variety of La Rioja, from various fields.

The grapes are harvested at their peak of ripeness by being monitored, which takes place throughout the cycle.

The grapes are destemmed and each plot is fermented separately at a controlled temperature of 28-29ºC.

The wine is run off quickly once the desired colour is achieved. Ramón Bilbao Crianza is aged for 14-months in American oak barrels. Once it has finished aging, it spends 8 months in bottle before going to market.

Ramón Bilbao Crianza is a classic of La Rioja. Fruity, balanced and perfectly tuned due to the work done with the oak barrels.

Tasting notes Ramón Bilbao Crianza

The taste is fresh and harmonious. It is very fruity. A medium passage with good acidity and tannins present.

Dark cherry red, almost garnet.

On the nose, there are notes of wood. Coco and pepper appear on a nice background of black fruits with balsamic.

A very balanced, medium-bodied Rioja wine. Very tasty, covering the palate in fruit with a slighty alcoholic touch. Smooth and silky texture. Good acidity and a long finish of good persistence.

Not very intense ruby colour with maroon reflections. Clean and very bright with fine tears on the glass.

Correct intensity, with aromas of red and black fruit intermixed with oak, toast, cocoa and coffee. Elegant balsamic background.

A highly balanced, medium-bodied Rioja wine with a tasty mid palate. The notes of fruit are noticed again along with a light touch of liquor. Long, mellow and silky mid palate. Good acidity and long and persistent finish. An easy-drinking and pleasant wine.

Red cherry colour with thin violet edges. Clean and bright. Abundant tears that stain the glass.

Its intense aromas of ripe black fruit dominate the nose. Its notes of sweet spices, elegant toasted hints and chocolate and milky touches round out this wine.

It is fresh and friendly in the palate. The clear flavours of noble wood assembled with ripe fruit noticed in the nose appear again in the palate. Tasty, balanced and velvety mid palate. Lingering and spicy aftertaste. Long finish.

In the nose, this wine offers intense aromas of ripe wild berries accompanied by balsamic notes, with a subtle background of vanilla, pepper and bay leaf.

It is fresh and pleasant in the mouth with a noticeable texture where the smokey and fruit assembled nuances reappear. Long and enfolding finish.
