Racines Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills is an organic white wine made by Racines with the Chardonnay variety in the Santa Rita Hills winegrowing area of Santa Barbara County, USA.
Racines came about through a collaboration of three greats of the winemaking world: Étienne de Montille (Burgundy), Rodolphe Péters (Champagne) and Justin Willett (California). This unique project perfectly combines the most sacred techniques of the old world with the energy of the beginnings of the new world. The joining together of three cultures in search of a wine’s true identity so that it can be enjoyed all over the world.
Racines Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills comes mostly from a vineyard located on a stunning steep hillside with mineral soils and a cool coastal climate. The vines are cultivated using organic agriculture and no chemical products, instead opting for organic treatments. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the Racines Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills grapes are pressed and then some of the must is fermented in used French oak barrels with the rest in cement tanks with native yeasts. The wine ages for a minimum of 18 months before bottling.
Crafted by three world-class winemakers, Racines Chardonnay Santa Rita Hills is a new generation California Chardonnay. Be careful, you might mistake it for a Burgundy!
