Characteristics Quinta Milú La Cometa
Quinta Milú La Cometa is a red wine made with the Tempranillo variety (Tinto Fino) in the D.O. Ribera de Duero by the Quinta Milú winery.
Good, artisan, local wines. This is how Quinta Milú describes their produce. The winery was a project started by winemaker Germán R. Blanco in the town of La Aguilera (Burgos). A small family winery under the Lively-wines brand that works its own vineyards in an organic, sustainable way, using microvinification.
Quinta Milú La Cometa comes from vineyards that have an average age of 70 years, planted at 900 metres in sandy-clay and clay-calcareous soils. The harvest is carried out manually with strict selection of the grapes from each plot.
Once in the winery, the Quinta Milú La Cometa is not destemmed or crushed and the grapes from some plots are pressed by foot. Vinification happens separately and different deposits are used depending on each plot. Open barrels, amphorae and oak vats are used. It ferments with indigenous yeasts at a controlled temperature between 23 and 25ºC. Then it is aged in used French oak barrels for 13 months. It is not filtered, stabilised, or clarified.
Quinta Milú La Cometa is a traditional, organic and sustainable red wine that is perfect for those looking to enjoy the essence of the Ribera de Duero.
