Quinta Apolonia is a barrel-fermented white wine made by Belondrade and Lurtón with the Verdejo variety in Castilla-León (Spain).

Belondrade y Lurtón is a winery in La Seca, in the heart of Rueda (Castilla-León). Its founder, Didier Belondrade, is a French lawyer who turned his hobby into his passion by building a Bordeaux chateau in Spain. Designed by the architect Vicent Dufos du Rau, this winery has state-of-the-art technology and is supplied by the 30 hectares of vineyards that surround it, which are used to make some impressive Verdejos.

Quinta Apolonia comes from their own vines with an average age of 8 years old. They are planted in clay-sandy soils with boulders at an altitude of 750 metres above sea level. Respectful agriculture is practiced and the harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.

In the winery, the Quinta Apolonia grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks and concrete eggs. The resulting wine is then mixed with the wine that is used to make its older sibling, Belondrade y Lurton, which comes from 80-year-old vines and is barrel-fermented.

Named after one of Didier Belondra’s daughters, Quinta Apolonia is a wine that combines the spark of the Verdejo variety with the complexity of the barrel. A true representation of this grape variety.
