Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Quest is a red wine from the appellation of origin Costers del Segre produced by Castell d'Encús, a winery located in Pallars Jussà (Lleida).

Quest is a blend of the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot y Petit Verdot. The grape originates from vineyards planted at 100 meters above sea level in the town of Talarn.

The harvest is completed by hand in small boxes that can carry up to 10kg.

For production, the grapes are fermented in stone presses from the 7th century with yeast from the grapes. Once the alcoholic fermentation is finalised it then receives a malolactic fermentation in barrels.

It is located in the Pyrenees area of Pallars Jussà (Lleida) in a mountainous area at an altitude of 800 to 1000 meters. The orientation is primarily SO with good protection from the cold north winds. The intention of the winery is producing a limited number of bottles from the whole fruit of their vines.
Pictures and situation Castell d'Encús
When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.
