Quartomoro Orriu Cannonau di Sardegna is a wood-aged red wine made by Quartomoro with the Cannonau variety in the DOC Cannonau di Sardegna, in Sardinia (Italy).
Quartomoro is an educational project run by Piero Cella, an enterprising viticulturist who wants to intertwine lives, experiences and cultures in the town of Arborea, a land with some of the most interesting biodiversity in Europe. Because their wines are made with minimal intervention and respecting natural processes, they are a true expression of Sardinia.
Quartomoro Orriu Cannonau di Sardegna comes from vineyards located in the municipality of Dorgali, in the province of Nuoro. These vines are cultivated according to traditional methods and harvested manually in boxes at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, Quartomoro Orriu Cannonau di Sardegna ferments at temperatures below 30°C, with selected yeasts and 7 days of skin-contact maceration. The wine then ages for 6 months in stainless steel tanks and in used French oak barrels, and it spends another 6 months in the bottle before being sold.
Made with Cannonau, the local star variety, Quartomoro Orriu Cannonau di Sardegna is a complex wine with body and colour and plenty of personality.
