Planetes de Nin Blanc 2018 is a complex wine. On the nose it is reminiscent of white fruit. On the palate it is rich in nuances that reaffirm its complexity. On the palate it is deep and long, with a touch of minerality and a subtle saline note. A voluminous, elegant wine, with a firm structure and an acidity that gives it freshness and promises longevity.

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Planetes de Nin Blanc is a single-variety Cariñena Blanca wine produced by the Família Nin-Ortiz winery in Porrera, in the DOQ Priorat.

Ester Nin and Carles Ortiz are the people behind this very interesting project. Esther is a winemaker from a family of winegrowers who left her native Penedès to settle in Priorat and work with Daphne Glorian, with whom she created the Clos Erasmus wine, with the 2004 and 2005 vintages being awarded 100 Parker points. Carles is a retired builder and climber who decided to settle in Porrera when he bought the Les Planetes estate. From the very beginning, he decided to cultivate his vines according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture.

This pair produces wines of the highest quality with the philosophy of caring for the environment and respecting nature. Their wines reflect the area, the climate and the vintage. They are produced using minimal intervention and fermentation takes place spontaneously with native yeasts.

Planetas de Nin Blanc provides an excellent opportunity to taste a single-variety Cariñena Blanca wine from Priorat. The wine is aged for 6 months in clay amphoras and 3 months in oak barrels and gives us chance to rediscover this ancient variety that contains rusticity and terroir without sacrificing elegance.

Ester Nin has quickly become one of the key names in Priorat. She started with Mas Martinet and Clos Erasmus, which is where she was first awarded 100 Parker points for a Spanish wine. From there she started her own project, giving the winery her own name. Her first wine, Nit de Nin, exploded onto the market, scoring 98 Parker points for her first vintage. Then came the rest: a whole collection of biodynamic wines with the ability to showcase the full strength and essence of Priorat, and each vintage touched by Parker's magic wand. These wines have found themselves a comfortable position among Parker’s highest rated Spanish wines.
Priorat is craftsmanship and tradition, old and robust vines that are grown and born deep inside the province of Tarragona. They are grown on slopes that are sleety with low fertility and difficult to grow in. In Priorat they produce great red wines of an excellent quality, a maroon colour, robust, dense and rich flavour, intense aromas and sometimes there are reflections present of minerals from the soils.
