Pinna Fidelis Crianza is a crianza red wine made by Pinna Fidelis with the Tinta del País variety in the D.O. Ribera del Duero (Castilla y León).
The Pinna Fidelis winery was founded in 2001 in the town of Peñafiel (Valladolid). This is a winemaking project with 200 hectares of vineyards next to the Douro River that aims to reflect the character of the Tinta del País variety. To do this, they make a range of young, aged and reserva wines with a true Ribera del Duero style.
Pinna Fidelis Crianza comes from vines aged over 30 years old planted in limestone soils with very little organic matter. The continental climate, with cold winters and hot summers, provides a great range in temperatures and concentrated grapes. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested manually and the clusters are selected.
In the winery, the Pinna Fidelis Crianza grapes are macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 30 days. The wine is then aged for 15 months in French oak barrels with occasional filling. Finally, the wine is clarified before bottling.
Pinna Fidelis Crianza is a powerful and structured wine that is fine and elegant. A Tinta del País that is faithful to the Ribera del Duero denomination of origin.
