Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve GC is an extra brut champagne (between 6-7 g/L of sugar). Its bubbles are delicate and pleasant, making it an easy-drinking sparkling wine. The nose is floral and fruity, with notes of almond, fresh bread, citrus and apple. The palate is honest, dominated by fruit (lemon and pear) and floral notes. Lingering finish, with citrus flavours and a touch of saltiness.

Characteristics Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve GC

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

They say that if it is good and brief it is twice as good. And you will be left with that same sensation after a sip of Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve GC, a champagne made by Pierre Peters using grand cru grapes in the Côte de Blancs (in northeastern France).

However, the uniqueness of Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve GC is not just down to the terroir (which obviously also has an influence), but also to the solera it ages in, which has been used for more than 20 vintages. Specifically this reserva, which began in 1988, is inspired by the soleras and criaderas method that is so typical of the Jerez region and is blended with champagnes made with Chardonnay from the grands crus of the A.O.C. Champagne.

The result is Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve GC, the flagship of this house founded in the 19th century. It is also essential to talk about the clay, the soft soil (retains moisture) and the nitrogen-rich environment (very important for the yeasts during fermentation), where 19 hectares of Chardonnay are grown in the communes of Le Mesnil sur Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. Having carefully selected their land, the family now cultivate vineyards with an average age of 30 years old, where they work in a completely manual and artisan way.

Finally, we can't finish this description without talking about the production method. They use the champenoise method, and once the grapes have fermented (in small stainless steel tanks and without any wood to mask the terroir), the base wine is bottled and a liqueur de tirage (a mixture of base wine, cane sugar and yeast) is added to start the second fermentation in the bottle and turn Pierre Peters Cuvee de Reserve GC into a great sparkling wine.
