Characteristics Pierre Morey Meursault Les Durots
Pierre Morey Meursault Les Durots is a biodynamic red wine made by Pierre Morey in the AOC Meursault/Côte-d’Or (Burgundy) with the Pinot Noir variety.
Since 1973 the Morey family has been cultivating their own vineyards in the town of Meursault (Burgundy). Founded by Pierre Morey, the former manager of the prestigious Domaine Leflaive winery, they work 11 hectares of land in the extraordinary Côte d’Or area. These are top quality terroirs that are biodynamically cultivated and result in limited productions of very fine reds and very elegant whites.
Pierre Morey Meursault Les Durots comes from vines planted in deep, clayey, poor and stony soils. Cultivation is carried out according to biodynamic principles using plant infusion treatments instead of chemical products. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the grapes selected to make the Pierre Morey Meursault Les Durots macerate first and then undergo a spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts at a controlled temperature. Finally, it ages on lees for one year in barrels and then 4 more months in stainless steel tanks.
Pierre Morey Meursault Les Durots is a fresh, pleasant and concentrated red wine. A true Meursault with its own character.
