Partida Bellvisos Blanc is a natural, organic barrel-aged white wine made by Sara i René Viticultors in the D.O.Q. Priorat (Tarragona) with the Macabeo and Garnacha Blanca varieties.
Sara i René Viticultors is a winery run by a young winemaking couple in Gratallops, in the province of Tarragona. Sara, daughter of Luis Pérez de Mas Martiner and, René son of René Barbier de Clos Mogador, together bottle some exceptional wines. Bellvisos is a small project where they have been able to experiment and work meticulously to produce wines full of typicity and freshness.
Partida Bellvisos Blanc comes from the highest part of this plot with beautiful views (hence its name Bellvisos) and challenging slopes. These are old vines planted in slate soils and cultivated using organic agriculture with the help of a mule. Planted in an unfavourable climate for acidity, the grapes are harvested at a specific time; not too ripe but not green.
The Partida Bellvisos Blanc grapes are trodden in the winery and left to macerate for about 12 hours. They are then pressed and racked into ceramic vats to begin spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts at a temperature no higher than 20ºC. Finally, the wine ages in an old 600-litre barrel for about 14 months.
Part of the collection of surprising wines made by Sara and René, Partida Bellvisos Blanc is an energetic, deep and expressive white wine. A great challenge for this couple who are full of wisdom and creativity.
