Characteristics Otazu Premium Cuvee

Real reviews from customers who have purchased this product

Otazu Premium Cuvée is a red wine from the Navarra made with the best Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the vineyards of the Lord of Otazu.

The grapes are grown under the influence of the continental and Atlantic climate. The significant temperature differences between day and night (32 ° C to 10 ° C respectively) help give complexity to the aromatic components of grapes during ripening.
The soil on which these vines are grown is permeable and free from salinity. The presence of mulch reduces the production of grapes naturally and controls excessive growth in wetter years.
The harvest is performed manually during the night, in baskets of 12kg. Fermentation is done in stainless steel tanks at 16 ° C and maturing takes place in French oak barrels from Allier for 14 months.

Bodegas Otazu is art, history and wine. They represent what today is a fertile land that shows the achievements of the generations that successively occupied the 16th-century Renaissance Palace, and that built an old winery in the style of the French chateaux in 1840. This is how the first winery built in Navarre was born. It was located outside the town centre and here they produced wine from a single farm. This fact was a milestone in the wine world of that time, and today, some of its wines have the Denomination of Origin Pago de Otazu. Their wines have a marked character, they are expressive, amiable, with their own style. Modern and innovative, with that unmistakable seal of the best international noble varieties.
Some wine regions have to bear the weight of their own prestige and fame, and this is certainly the case for Navarra. For many years, the white and reds produced in this region came second to the rosés produced here with the noble Grenacha variety. However, the last two decades have seen ongoing changes in the wine-making sector in Navarra, changes which have completely transformed the styles of wine produced and have been consistently worthwhile, resulting in  some of the white and red wines produced in Navarra being ranked among best rated in Spain.
