Onra Blanc is a white wine from the D.O Costers del Segre, produced by the Lagravera winery. This wine is a blend of 3 different grape varieties, Garnacha Blanca and Sauvignon Blanc.

The grapes used for this wine come from 14 different plots of vineyards which between them span across 11 hectares, all of which are organically cultivated, and are home to loamy soils. The climate is characterised by the strong contrasts in temperature between the winters, which are very cold (even reaching into negative temperatures), and the summers, where temperatures rise above 30ºC with ease. Rainfall, however, is scarce.

The vines grow with 110Richter rootstock and are double cordon Royat formed, grown on north and south east facing orientations. The vines grow on two different levels, with encourages a better leaf surface exposition to light, facilitating the bunch aeration to keep and prevent humidity that activates fungi.

The harvest of the grapes is carried out manually, using small 8kg capacity boxes. Following the harvest, the grapes are deposited into a cold fridge at 6ºC.  The grapes then undergo a second and third selection process, one automatic one manual, followed by maceration with their skins at 10ºC for around four hours. Then, the pressing takes place in a pneumatic press, followed by static settling for around 36 hours at 10ºC. Fermentation then takes place using native yeasts at 14-16ºC. Onra Blanc then finally rests for five months in stainless steel tanks, during which period battônage takes place.

When we refer to the DO Costers del Segre we think of wines with a continental character, which in some respects is true, but extensive replantation of international grape varieties means that the majority of wines produced here lack a geographical or territorial trademark, even though the vast majority of the wines are technologically perfect. However, there are currently wineries such as Mas Blanch i Jové, Costers del Sio, L’Olivera, Lagravera and Thomas Cusiné, among others, who concentrate their effors on producing wines with what are considered varieties native to the region. However, the majority of this region is still dominated by classic international varieties.
