Olek Bondonio Barbera d'Alba is a wood-aged red wine made by Olek Bondonio with the Barbera variety in the DOC Barbera d'Alba in Piedmont (Italy)
Olek Bondoni is an intrepid winegrower who, after learning in different wine regions of Australia, New Zealand and France, returned to his family's old farmhouse called "La Berchialla" in Barbaresco to put into practice all the knowledge acquired on his travels. A small estate of 3.5 hectares which is one of the most famous crus of the area and which can be cultivated and vinified without anyone's help due to its small size.
Olek Bondonio Barbera d'Alba comes from fantastic 40 year old vineyards located high in the hills above the town of Alba. Respectful agriculture is practiced with a real attention to detail and avoiding synthetic products which can disrupt the natural balance as far as possible. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the cellar the grapes of Olek Bondonio Barbera d'Alba spend 18 days macerating on their skins. They then undergo spontaneous fermentation using native yeasts. Finally the wine is aged for 12 months in foudres and bottled unfiltered.
Fruit of a wonderful cru in the prestigious Piedmont region, Olek Bondonio Barbera d'Alba meets all the expectations of a great wine. Complexity, depth and balance.
