Matias Michelini is an Argentine winegrower who, after working on several projects in the Uco Valley (Argentina), moved to Galicia to set up his own winery. With 4 hectares of old vineyards in the Ribadavia area, where the Avía and the Miño rivers meet, he founded O Morto Wines. A project whose natural wines describe in detail the beauty of the location.
O Morto A Rocha Blanco comes from small plots of old vines in the Paraviñol area. These are local variety strains that are planted in decomposed granite soils. They are cultivated using completely organic agriculture and no chemicals that could affect the natural environment. The vines are also treated using biodynamic practices, where the animal, plant and mineral worlds coexist.
When the grape is harvested manually, it goes through a direct pressing. The O Morto A Rocha Blanco must then ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in jars. The wine stays there on its lees for 9 months. When the wine is ready, it is bottled without being filtered, clarified or adding sulphur.
O Morto A Rocha Blanco was made with the aim of bottling a landscape. A magical place with a fresh and very mineral Atlantic character.
