Ninín is a red wine produced by Bodegas Izquierdo in Aranda de Duero (Burgos), D.O. Ribera del Duero.

Antonino Izquierdo, oenologist and owner of Bodegas Izquierdo, has been making his wines since 1997. It was in 2006 when he appeared on the market with his only wines –classic signature wines– combining the tradition and know-how of Ribera with the latest technologies and production methods.

Bodegas Izquierdo has old vineyards of Tempranillo that are over 40 years old, planted on poor soils, between holm oak forests and century-old pine trees in Ribera del Duero. The vineyards are cultivated in line with biodynamics and they do not use herbicides, systemic products or chemical fertilisers. They only use manpower for the production of grapes of an excellent quality.

Ninín is a wine made with Tempranillo from their own vineyards, which are over 40 years old.

The grapes are manually harvested and placed in 18-kg boxes. Once they arrive at the winery, the grapes go through a selection table, before they are all transferred to stainless steel deposits. Here, the grapes go through the fermentation with local yeasts, with a maceration that lasts between 20 and 25 days. Then, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.

Ninín is an intense, full-bodied and elegant wine. On the nose, the balance between ripe red fruits and the toasted notes of the ageing process stand out. In the mouth, it is intense and full-bodied, with a good balance between acidity and alcohol.

Ribera del Duero wine is one of the most prestigious wines in Spain. Red wines made with Tinto Fino variety grapes, with highly complex aromas, fine on the palate and with a great storage capacity. The wines of Ribera del Duero present a perfect balance between the vividness of the fruit and the refinement of the wood, which has led to them obtaining a well-deserved international acclaim.
