Characteristics Murua Blanco Fermentado en Barrica
Murua Blanco Fermentado en Barrica is a white wine from La Rioja produced by the Murua winery. This wine is a blend of native varieties: Viura, Malvasía and Garnacha Blanca.
The strains are between 40 and 80 years old and are cultivated traditionally, as they have been for decades. The vineyards are situated in the town of Elciego, a town with a great wine-making tradition. Murua Blanco Fermentado en Barrica’s production starts with a period of fermentation in new American and French oak barrels, and after undergoing the different production processes, the wine ages with its lees for around seven months in the same barrels.Murua was founded in 1974 and boasts 110 hectares of vineyards, spread between the town of Elciego and other neighbouring towns. The winery only works with native varieties and with very low yields, which allows each grape to express the quality of its native land with complete loyalty.
