Monopole Clásico is a white wine produced by CVNE (Winemaking Company of Northern Spain), in Haro, D.OCa. Rioja.
CVNE (Winemaking Company of Northern Spain) is an old winery of Barrio de La Estación, in Haro. It was founded in 1879. It is the fifth generation who manages the business of this company, which is listed on the stock market since 1997.
It currently manages around 545 hectares, located in the subareas of La Rioja Alta and La Rioja Alavesa. The vines where this winery gets their grapes to produce their wines are planted on clayey-calcareous, clayey-ferrous and alluvial soils, with a predominant Atlantic climate.
Monopole Clásico is a wine mainly made from Viura, manually harvested and placed in 20-kg boxes. After soft pressing, the must is transferred to concrete deposits where it is left to settle. Alcoholic fermentation is carried out in stainless steal deposits, and it is aged on its fine lees in used 300 and 500-litre barrels for around 8 months.
Monopole Clásico is a complex, elegant and fresh wine. Spectacular on the nose, with aromas of ripe white fruit, dried fruit and a slight spiciness. The small amount of Chamomile from Sanlúcar de Barrameda gives a salty finish, surprising and delicious.
