Monfort Brut Trento Doc is a sparkling wine made with the Chardonnay variety by the Monfort winery in the DOC Trento, in the Trentino area (Italy).
The Monfort winery is run by the Simoni’s. Since 1945, this family, with the help of local farmers, have been tenaciously cultivating their land and giving value to the small, forgotten historical varieties of Trentino. As a result, they produce wines that are made through a deep bond with the land.
Monfort Brut Trento Doc comes a 45 hectares of vineyards in Lavis and Meano, lying between 350 and 500 metres above sea level. They are cultivated using traditional agriculture and sustainable techniques. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are manually harvested in boxes with a selection process in the vineyard itself.
In the winery, the Monfort Brut Trento Doc grapes are destemmed and cold macerated. The must then ferments at a controlled temperature and rests on its lees for 2-3 months in stainless steel tanks and in 225-litre French oak barrels. It is then bottled for a second fermentation and placed in riddling racks for 24 months on lees. Finally it is disgorged and tirage liqueur is added.
Made using the traditional method, Monfort Brut Trento Doc is an intense, crisp classic sparkling wine with great aromatic expression.
